Have trouble sleeping? Well there is a variety of things you can do – many people count sheep, but I would die from boredom before I’d ever fall asleep. There are many studies that quote Tryptophan, an amino-acid, with a mix of carbohydrates in a meal, would be able to trigger the sleep-regulating hormone: Melatonin. Many of these foods that contain both these chemicals are turkey, chocolate, milk, and certain fruits. That is why people often drink a cup of hot chocolate milk before sleep! Another common food with the sleep-promoting hormone is grapes! Grapes contain a lot of Melatonin, and mix them in a bowl with some yogurt and a glass of milk, and you should be set for a deep REM filled sleep.
